Taraba state commissioner of police, Mr Sabastin Dongshal, on Thursday said, the command has commenced all necessary actions to strengthen local security in Takum local government area of the state.
CP Dongshal stated during a visit to Takum LGA council chairman, Hon. Benjamin Bako, in Takum that the decision is to flush out criminal elements in all communities within the local government, and pave the way for development.
According to the CP, the command’s desire is to strengthen collaboration between Nigeria Police and the local government administration to promote peace and security to attract sustainable development in the local government and its surrounding communities.
While commending the council chairman over his commitment to grassroots security, the police commissioner disclosed that the command is to commence community engagement, targeted at ensuring unity and collective responsibility in maintaining law and order across the local government.
The CP also commended Hon. Bako for his commitment toward grassroots development, and continuous efforts in fostering peace and stability in Takum.
Meanwhile, the Takum council chairman, Hon Benjamin Bako thanked the Commissioner for his drive to ensure that there was enduring peace in the area.
Hon. Bako reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to work closely with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the local government.
