Taraba Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Special Projects Monitoring Unit (SPMU) team has received a standing ovation by Ndibam Community in Takum Local Government Area of the State over timely intervention on Gully Erosion in the area.
The residents lauded the ACReSAL team of inspectors who paid an assessment visit to the Gully Erosion site to assess the level of work ongoing at the project site.
According to the statement released by the Taraba ACReSAL Communication Officer, Emmanuel Njaprim, expressed satisfaction with the level of progress and quality of work being handled by the lead contractor, noting that the work met approved specifications.
“The project is progressing satisfactorily, with the contractor fully mobilized and construction activities advancing as planned. Earthworks, drainage structures, and foundation works were at different stages of completion and generally aligned with the approved engineering specifications.
“Construction materials and equipment were fully available on site. However, since the inspection took place on a Sunday, construction workers were not on site. Only the two site engineers were present to receive and accompany the inspection team. Environmental and site management practices were generally satisfactory. Members of the surrounding community also expressed appreciation for the intervention and reaffirmed their continued support for the successful implementation of the project,” the statement said.
ACReSAL is a massive World Bank assisted project by the Nigerian government that targets land degradation, desperation, and climatic change in 19 northern States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT, Abuja. The initiative is focused on four core areas to boost environmental and agricultural sustainability.
