The Taraba State government has lifted the embargo placed on employment into the state Civil Service by announcing a massive recruitment of almost 2000 potential civil servants.
Mr. Philip Kundila, Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission (CSC), on Thursday disclosed this to Journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
This new recruitment comes after the State government had absorbed over 3000 employees initially tagged as “ghost workers” after their appointments were reviewed in a thorough screening exercise that also saw about 200 others failing to scale the huddles.
Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Philip Kundila stated that the development followed Governor Agbu Kefas’ directive to employ suitably qualified indigenes into the state civil service after nearly fours years of non formal employment exercise in the state.
He explained that the newly absorbed “ghost workers” numbering 3,187, formed the first phase of the employment exercise under Governor Agbu Kefas.
Kundila admonished applicants who may wish to apply to be wary of job racketeers who parade around for deals in the process of the exercise, disclosing that the application forms costs N3,000 only.

“Do not give money to anyone in the name of assisting you to be employed. The employment is free.
“All applicants must follow through the processes, and successful ones will be shortlisted for interview. Only qualified candidates will be employed to ensure excellent civil service in Taraba State,” the chairman warned.
While thanking governor Kefas, Philip Kundila and the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, David Nyan, said they were humbled by the opportunity given them to lead the recruitment exercise and promised to be fair and just in the assignment. They also lauded the governor for approving funds for the renovation of the Commission’s secretariat.
