The Agro-Climatic Resilience In Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL, a world Bank project, in partnership with Taraba state government on Thursday distributed modern farming tolls to farmers in the catchment area in Taraba blstate.
Dr. Clement Yakubu Giwa, the project coordinator stated during the exercise at Boboji that the idea was to empower identify farmers to boost food production in the state.
Giwa disclosed that ACReSAL was in Taraba to tackle the shocks of environmental degradation that often affect food production. He urged benefiting farmers to make judicious use of the equipment and achieve the desired aim.
Meanwhile, Hon Ishat Barde, the state commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, stated during the program that Governor Agbu Kefas’ environmental policies to restore land productivity were designed in line with ACReSAL’s primary target of empowering communities and farmers to boost climate resilience.
She assured that governor Kefas administration would continued to ensure possible efforts for the success of ACReSAL.
“This gesture by governor Kefas, in collaboration with ACReSAL is to complement your efforts by ensuring that you boost food productivity in Taraba”. The commissioner stated
Barde, also expressed that the Kefas administration has created an enabling environment for initiatives like ACReSAL to flourish and positively transform landscapes and livelihoods.
New day reports that items distributed to Bobboji farming communities include, Clean Cook Stoves, Power Tiller Machines, Powered Water Pumps and Solar Power Panels.
